At what age should my child have their first eye exam?

Once a child is able to sit and follow simple instructions and read letters they are ready for an eye exam. If you notice any warning signs, such as squinting to see, standing or sitting close to the television screen, or holding books and pictures very close to see them, you should make an eye appointment. Depending on the child’s age, a pediatric specialist may be suggested for the exam.

Do you treat eye injuries and infections?

The Doctor treats many types of medical conditions and injuries to the eye. He also may refer patients to specialists if necessary.

What type of payments do you accept?

We currently accept the following forms of payment:

  • Cash
  • Checks
  • Visa
  • MasterCard
  • Discover
  • American Express
  • Care Credit
  • How long does an eye exam take?

Different appointment types take different amounts of time. A routine eye exam without any complications takes approximately an hour. If you wear contact lenses an additional 15 minutes is needed. Medical appointments vary, and start at 30 minutes. A routinely scheduled medical visit takes less time than an injury or medical problem.

Will I wait long before my appointment?

The length of our scheduled appointments is determined by the time it generally takes for each specific type of appointment. But since each patient receives individualized attention, appointments may run longer than expected. Others can be completed more quickly. We do our best to schedule each patient accordingly, and to keep those waiting informed about how we are running. Personal attention can take a little longer, but most of our patients don’t mind waiting a little for excellent care.
